Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday targeted those who questioned the effectiveness of Kovid-19 vaccines, saying politics should not be done for the health of the people. In a program organized to extend the measure of benefits of the government’s health care program to the Central Armed Police Forces, he said that vaccines developed by Indian scientists are completely safe.

He said, there are some people who are spreading misinformation on vaccines. Why are you raising doubts about people’s health and doing politics? Shah said, I appeal to all of you to go for vaccination when your turn comes. There is no doubt on its efficacy. We have already started the world’s largest vaccination campaign.

Shah clearly distributed the ‘Ayushman CAPF health card among some personnel of the seven Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) here. He said that the CAPF had three major concerns, the existing health coverage was not comprehensive, the satisfaction of the accommodations and not the timely recruitment, without the long hours of vacation duty.

Shah said, our government is working at all three levels. For health issues, we have launched ‘Ayushman CAPF’ today. About 50 lakh people will get health insurance benefits from it. He said that by May 1, the ‘Ayushman CAPF’ process would be completed by providing health cards to all personnel of central central police forces.

“Our target is to increase the personnel satisfaction ratio of the Central Armed Police Forces to 55 per cent by 2022 from 36 per cent two years ago, to increase it to 65 per cent by 2024,” the Home Minister said. “We will start the recruitment process of 50,000 personnel in CAPF,” he said. In five years, every worker who leaves from CAPF will be recruited in place so that every youth can spend 100 years at home.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the National Health Authority (NHA) and the Union Home Ministry at the CRPF Group Center in Guwahati. Home Minister Shah, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of State for Home Nityananda Rai and Assam Health Minister Himanta Vishwa Sarma were present on the occasion.

Under the scheme, around 28 lakh personnel and their families of CAPF, Assam Rifles and National Security Guard (NSG) will be included in the ‘Ayushman Bharat: Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana’ (AB PM-JAY). CRPF Director General AP Maheshwari thanked him for bringing CAPF under the scheme. The Home Minister also digitally inaugurated 168 quarters of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), a ten-bed hospital and an administrative building located at various places in Assam.
